  • Hospice of Charleston opened and operates the first and only Hospice General Inpatient Center in the Lowcountry for acute symptom management of a patient's illness.
  • Hospice of Charleston is the area's longest serving hospice organization, serving Charleston since 1981.
  • Shannon's Hope Bereavement Camp, conducted on beautiful Seabrook Island helps children ages 6-15 who are suffering the loss of a loved one.
  • The Mourning to Morning program offers open and structured bereavement services for all individuals in the tri-county area regardless of previous Hospice of Charleston association.
Our experienced, professional team includes:
  • Two Hospice and Palliative Care Board Certified physicians offer relief from pain & symptoms.
  • Hospice of Charleston has RN's and Hospice Aides that are certified in Hospice and Palliative Care.
  • We are committed to a one hour response time for referrals and same day admissions.
  • Our social work employees are Licensed Masters Degreed Social Workers from accredited schools of Social Work (MSW, LMSW).
  • Our staff are able to provide Continuing Education (CEU's) seminars related to our areas of expertise to the medical, educational, social services and lay community.
  • We have more than 200 trained volunteers, who are provided monthly in-services to increase their awareness and expertise in the hospice field.
