Hospice of Charleston Hosts a Complimentary Hospice 101
Educational Seminar for Family and Professional Caregivers and Seniors

Mount Pleasant, SC --- Local family caregivers, professional caregivers, seniors and others interested in learning about hospice programs and services are invited to attend an educational seminar on Tuesday, October 27th from 6-7pm. Although the availability of hospice services is becoming better known, many people have unanswered questions and misconceptions about those services.

Hospice is a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to end-of-life care typically provided in the patient's home, but also may be offered in inpatient hospice facilities. This seminar will address the scope of hospice services and how those services support the roles played by family and professional caregivers. The seminar will also answer questions about hospice eligibility, criteria for admission, and payment sources. Those attending will have an opportunity to tour the Hospice of Charleston state-of-the-art inpatient facility. Light refreshments will be sponsored by Griswold Special Care, a local provider of non-medical in-home care.

This informative seminar will be held at Hospice of Charleston inpatient center, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mount Pleasant, SC on October 27th from 6:00 pm to 7:00pm. Space is limited, so please RSVP to the Griswold Special Care Charleston Office reservation line at (843) 647-2273 before October 23, 2009.
