Hospice Center Medical Directors:

            
    Angus Baker, MD
Dr. Baker graduated from Davidson College and the Medical University of South Carolina, trained in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He has been Medical Director of Hospice of Charleston since 1998, and left private practice of hematology and medical oncology in 2005 to practice hospice and palliative medicine full time. He is co-medical director of the Hospice of Charleston Center in Mount Pleasant, and of the Palliative Medicine service of Roper-St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston. He is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Hematology, Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
   R. Scott Lake, MD
Dr. Lake is board certified in Internal Medicine and Certified by the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He received his BS from Hampden-Sydney College and his MD from Tulane University. He completed his residency and internship from Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke's. Since 2001 he has served as co-medical director of both the Hospice of Charleston and the Roper-St. Francis palliative medicine service. He serves on the clinical faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina where he teaches palliative medicine to nurses, medical students, residents and fellows. He has been recognized in the publication "Best Doctors in America."
   Beth Wolf, MD
Dr. Beth Wolf is board certified in Palliative Medicine and Internal Medicine. She received a BS from Drake University, a Medical Degree from the University of South Dakota and completed residency at Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Prior to becoming certified in Palliative Medicine she practiced for 9 years as a Hospitalist (Hospital-based Internist).

   William E. Wilson, MD
Dr. Wilson is Board Certified in Family Medicine, graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO and completed his Family Practice residency from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Wilson is a member Roper St. Francis Healthcare Physician Partners practice in Mt. Pleasant. His hospital privileges are active in East Cooper Regional Medical Center and Roper Hospital. Dr. Wilson is currently serving as medical director of the Hospice of Charleston homecare program.
   Dr. T. Scott Jennings, MD, FACOG
Dr. Jennings received his BA from the University of Florida and his MD from the University of South Florida, completed his internship and residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Dr. Jennings lives and works in Charleston and has been practicing as a Gynecologic Oncologist for over eighteen years.
   Stuart Owens, MD
Dr. Owens received his BS from Clemson University and his MD from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his internship in General Surgery at MUSC and did his residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Duke Medical Center. Dr. Owens was in private practice for many years in Mt. Pleasant and is currently the medical director for the Sumter Free Health Clinic in St. Stephens.
